Veer Zaara

You could certainly imagine the delight that would have come if Aishwarya was a part of this film! After the tremendous success of Shah Rukh and Aishwarya jodi in various films like – devdas, Mohabbatein, etc. This movie would definitely have made it to the next level if Aish would have agreed to it. Right!? Well, though the work of the actress Priety Zinta along with Shah Rukh was also loved by the audiences which made it a blockbuster hit and this film garnered various accolades. The highest grossing movie of that year, this film was initially offered to Aishwarya in 2004 to which she declined due to some unknown reasons.

This Bollywood blockbuster was not only responsible for being a taboo breaker but also boosted the career of actress Priyanka Chopra. This film garnered the actress the title of desi girl, all thanks to her classic appearance in stunning saree and her dance moves on the song “desi girl”. While all this success could have been bagged by the actress, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan went on to reject the lead role in the film because of the story revolving around two boys. Apart from Aishwarya, the actor Saif Ali Khan Was approached for the role alongside actor Abhishek Bachchan but he also rejected the lead role in the film which finally went to John Abraham.

Raja Hindustani

Another Bollywood blockbuster rejected by Aishwarya was the film, Raja Hindustani. This 1996 film was a complete entertainer for the audiences with a classic list of songs, amazing characters and storyline. While the lead role of Aarti was played by actress Karishma Kapoor, the role was initially offered to Aishwarya. But the actress refused to be a part of the movie since she was up for participation in the Miss World pageant.

Chalte Chalte

This 2003 romantic drama film was another Shah Rukh Khan starrer movie that was rejected by Aishwarya. Declared as a hit at the box office, this movie was a work by Aziz Mirza. With a set of brilliant songs and emotional elements, this blockbuster was also initially offered to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. However, since she was involved in a quarrel with the actor Salman Khan at the time, he was reportedly said to create trouble on the sets of the film. He even repeatedly got into arguments with the lead actor of the film which created a deep trouble on the sets. Following this, the actress decided to walk out of the film and it finally went to Rani Mukherjee.

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham

Looks like most of the movies rejected by the actress happen to be alongside Shah Rukh Khan. Rated as 7.4 by IMDb, this film was a multistarrer film directed by Karan Johar. With a set of renowned actors of the industry as leads – Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Kajol, Kareena Kapoor, etc. The actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was offered to play the role of Anjali in the film. However, due to the clash of her shooting dates and busy schedules, she refused to be a part of this project and thanks to this actress, Bollywood was able to get a new pairing of Kajol Shahrukh.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

With a good rating of 7.6 by IMDb, this was another film that was left by Aishwarya which became a delight for the actress Rani Mukherjee. This 1998 blockbuster movie was probably the reason why people say “Kajol Shahrukh ko na nhi kehte” and “dosti pyar hai”. With a set of inspiring love elements, this film was led by two actresses, Rani and Kajol. While on one hand Kajol played the role of Anjali, on the other hand, the role of Tina was initially offered to Aishwarya Rai. But since the actress was busy with the shooting of her Tamil film, Jeans, she refused to be a part of the movie and it went to Rani Mukherjee.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa

This psychological horror comedy gave a new dimension to the Bollywood world and is still regarded as one of the best works to date. This film not only became a blockbuster but also boasted the career of Vidya Balan. Her exceptional performance as Avni suffering from dissociative identity disorder was brilliantly performed by the actress. Her dissociative identity as Manjulika became one the popular characters of the industry. While we immensely love the actress for this, the actress Aishwarya Rai was initially roped for this role however, due to some unknown reasons the actress turned down the offer and it finally went to Vidya Balan.

Padmavat and Bajirao Mastani

After being praised for performance in a historic role in Jodha Akbar, Aishwarya would have aced these roles too. Right!? Aishwarya was roped in to play a role in these two projects which eventually went to Deepika Padukone. And being asked why she left the projects, the reason was said that the makers of the film could not find a suitable “Khilji” or “Bajirao” against her and was therefore replaced with Deepika Padukone.
