There have been numerous TV shows as well as movies that have been made to-date keeping in the fictitious story of Icchadhari Naagin. Though we cannot claim the amount of truth behind the same, however, the actress Sridevi strarrer film, Naagina became an inspiration for the Hindi sitcom, Naagin.

Based upon the love triangle and an NRI return story, this movie was a complete package of entertainment for the audiences and so was the serial Pardes Mein hai Mera Dil which was created on similar lines.

Bidaai & Vivah


The movie addressed various societal issues that are considered taboos and have been prevalent in real life for ages. The movie beautifully portrayed the importance of relationships, especially marriage and the sister bond.

The superstar Sanjeev Kumar starrer cult classic Bollywood movie, Jaani Dushman can certainly not be forgotten. With an ensemble cast of various other well-known faces from the industry, this movie revolved around the abductions of newlywed brides.

Following similar lines, a Hindi daily soap opera, Brahmarakshas was made that was aired on ZEE5. This serial went on to release the two installments for the same and was loved by the audiences.

Kya Hua Tera Waada & Biwi No.1


A film based upon a love triangle and the concept of Gharwali Aur bahar wali. While men always tend to underestimate housewives, this powerful yet comical movie was a reminder of the importance of a wife.

Following the same story, the serial Kya Hua Tera Wada was released with the actress Mona Singh as a lead.
