7 TV Actors Who Had A Short Career.


Making a brief career in the glam industry is certainly not easy and cannot be achieved by everyone. While there have been innumerable stars in the industry who were able to make it big, various others failed in doing so!

Whether it was because of their bad luck or their bad acting, or rather their death, these actors were not able to establish their careers in the television industry. The death of some of these stars shook the audiences and is still mourned by the fans.

Nafisa Joseph


The Femina Miss India Universe 1997, Nafisa Joseph was one of the stunning actresses of all time. The actress started her career at the tender age of 12 years with modeling. She became a judge to the popular MTV India VJ Hunt and was even seen in the show, C.A.T.S.

While this VJ could have earned more name and fame in the industry, she ended up losing hopes in life and hanged herself. Nafisa was even signed for a lead role in the popular sitcom Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin as Mallika Seth. However, after shooting its pilot episode, the actress was later replaced by the makers.

Pratyusha Banerjee


One of the most disheartening was the news of the sudden death of this popular Television actress. While she became one of the most loved Television personalities after her lead in a popular sitcom, she truly left the world at a young age. Pratuyusha played the character of Anandi in the most loved sitcom, Balika Vadhu.

While the actress was at the peak of her career and made an appearance on other shows like Bigg Boss and Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, the shocking news of her sudden demise at the tender age of 24 years left us all in deep grief and sorrow. While she could certainly have reached the heights in the industry, she wasn’t able to do so.

Kuljeet Randhawa


The beautiful actress and model Kuljeet Randhawa started her career by being a model for Gladrags, a popular Indian magazine published biweekly featuring modeling and related events. Her bold and strong women-centric character portrayals were something that made her different from others at the time.

She stepped into the television world with the serial Hip Hip Hurray replacing Shweta Salve as ‘Prishita’. While her performance was much appreciated in this serial itself, she gained the limelight after her prominent role in the UTV show C.A.T.S.

The actress had a different approach for what was showcased in a typical serial and was highly determined to bring a revolution in the taboos that exist in our society and serials. So, when it came to choosing a role, the actress was highly selective about the roles she played since she didn’t like the portrayal of a character who weeps continuously.

Despite being a strong and competitive woman, Kuljeet hanged herself in her apartment in Juhu, on 8 February 2006. Randhawa even left a note behind saying that she doesn’t wish to live anymore as she was unable to cope with life’s pressures. She died at the age of 30.

Abir Goswami


The television actor Abir Goswami has been one of the most prominent actors on Indian television. He has been a part of numerous Tv shows including some of the popular daily soaps like Kkusum, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan, Kkavyanjali, etc.

The actor even had a brief stint in the Bollywood industry and has been seen in a supporting role in various films like Lakshya, Ugly, The Legend of Bhagat Singh, etc. While the actor could certainly have bagged years and more fame, looks like destiny had some other plans. The actor left the world at the age of 38 years after having a cardiac arrest.

Rubina Shergill


This actress got famous after her significant role in the Zee Tv daily soap drama, Mrs. Kaushik Ki paanch Bahuein. This show ideally proved out to be her first and the last as a lead.

This actress was first seen playing a supporting role in the serial, Rehna Hai Teri Palkon Ki Chhaon Mein in 2009 post which she bagged a lead role in 2011 with Mrs. Kaushik Ki paanch Bahuein.

While she could have gone on to star in various other television serials, the actress did not get a chance to do so! In 2011, during the party with the serial cast, the actress suffered an asthma attack and eventually died after days.

Kushal Punjabi


The reality game show Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout winner Kushal Punjabi was one of the handsome hunks of the Indian television world.

Apart from starring in various Hindi daily soaps and reality shows, the actor has starred in various Bollywood movies as well such as, Lakshya, Salaam-e-Ishq, Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal. While the actor could have bagged more fame and popularity, his career marked a stop since he left the world at the age of 42 in 2019.

Jatin Kanakia


Now, this actor is certainly one of the dearest ones! Right!? Popularly addressed as the Prince of Comedy, this Television actor has been seen in various Bollywood movies and serials. Starting his career with the famous sitcom, Shrimaan Shrimati, this actor played a lead in the same.

Post this, the actor got a chance to work in numerous other Tv shows like Chashme Baddoor, Kabhi Yeh Kabhi Woh, All The Best, etc. He even played a noticeable part in the classic blockbuster film, Hum Saath Saath Hain as a doctor. The actor suffered pancreatic cancer at the age of 46 and left the world.

Sanjeet Bedi


Our very own Dr. Omi Joshi has also grabbed a position on this list! The Television actor Sanjeet Bedi became a significant part of the popular sitcom Sanjeevani back in 2002. Not only this, he went on to star in various other popular sitcoms like Kasautii Zindagi kay, Jaane Kya Baat Hui Aahat, Kyaa Hoga Nimmo Kaa, etc.

While this actor was on the verge of reaching success, he left us all in a shock with his demise. The actor left the world in 2015 after failing to emerge from a coma, induced by a brain ailment.
